Netflix’s drama series Virgin River has already enjoyed a successful run so far, and it shows no sign of slowing down, with season 6 on the way. Debuting in 2019 and based on the book series by Robyn Carr, Virgin River follows Melinda Monroe, a woman who moves to the eponymous Northern California town to escape her past. However, upon arriving, the nurse practitioner soon learns that even small-town living has its dark side- and that she may still have room in her life for love. Noted for its gripping storylines and ensemble cast, Virgin River has been one of Netflix’s biggest unsung hits for several years.
Though the critical response to the series has been spotty, Virgin River has a huge fanbase and has been widely praised, including its fourth season which garnered an impressive 100% score on Rotten Tomatoes. This critical success has translated into a committed audience, and the series has succeeded at weaving its romance storyline through a host of other compelling dramatic arcs. Shows like Virgin River have the potential to stretch on forever, and though season 5 is still fresh in the minds of fans, season 6 is already coming soon.

The First Full-Length Trailer For Season 6 Is Revealed
Following the teaser trailer already released, a new, full-length trailer has arrived for Virgin River. The trailer follows on nicely from the teaser, beginning with a shot of Jack in his wedding tux, and moving through glimpses of all the main characters and storylines. Of course, the show will continue to focus on Jack and Mel as they build their new home and prepare for their wedding (which will presumably be in this season, as the trailer declares that it is ‘weeks away’), but other characters also make an appearance.
Lizzie is seen getting an ultrasound, which means that her presumed pregnancy was not a false alarm, while Preacher is seen looking very serious in a suit, in what appears to be a courtroom. While it’s possible that this is a shot of something else, given that a body was found at the end of the last season, and that Preacher hid a body a while ago, it’s highly likely that Preacher may have to finally answer for his crimes. No matter what, the course of true love never runs smooth in Virgin River!

Virgin River Season 6 Story
Mel Finally Learns More About Her Past
Though it is still unclear exactly what will happen in Virgin River season 6, it is possible to assume that it will follow many of the threads introduced in season 5. Jack and Mel still haven’t fully come to grips with the miscarriage, and that will likely cause even more trouble for the already troubled couple. On top of that, their plan to renovate Lily’s farm will offer a distraction, but it could also cause a rift.
Virgin River season 5 concluded with the release of two Christmas episodes, and they were anything but throwaway holiday stories. Throughout season 5, Mel makes a series of discoveries about her parentage, and in the final episode of the season, she finally meets the man who is her biological father. The episode concludes with Mel’s long-lost dad coming clean that he has a secret he needs to tell her, but fans will have to wait until Virgin River season 6 to finally learn the truth.
With the show’s return coming in December, Netflix has revealed the first teaser trailer for Virgin River season 6. Opening with Jack’s proposal to Mel, the teaser shows clips of their various adventures together over the years. Eventually, it switches to new footage as the duo prepare for the wedding, including a ride in a pink limo, tux fittings, and even a small glimpse at Mel’s wedding dress.
