The country singer also revealed which star she’s spent the most time with and who she plays card games with as she praised the show’s cast
Kelsea Ballerini is showing support for her man Chase Stokes — and his costars — following the premiere of a new season of Outer Banks.
The country singer, 31, posted a video on TikTok on Oct. 10 using a filter for the Netflix series to show off her knowledge about the show — or, lack thereof. She also shared some stories about her time with the cast on set.
The filter generated a photo of a character from the show for Ballerini to rank from 1 to 10, but she quickly established that the ranking system was not her focus. Rather, she was keen to show love to the OBX cast in celebration of season 4’s premiere on Oct. 10.
Madelyn Cline was among the first stars to pop up, and Ballerini said immediately, “So hot. So hot.”
“We stan Sarah Cameron and Madelyn Cline in this house,” she added, further cementing the fact that there’s no bad blood between her, Cline, 26, and Stokes, 30, even though Cline and Stokes dated for a year after Outer Banks‘ first season premiered.
Ballerini also gushed about Austin North (Topper) and Charles Esten (Ward Cameron), as she said “I love Austin” and then revealed she’s known Esten, 59, who is also a musician “for a long time, so long.”
When Drew Starkey (Rafe Cameron) appeared, Ballerini said, “Anyone that plays card games with me is a friend of mine, and this man did. And that’s all I have to say.”
Madison Bailey, who plays Kiara, was next up, and Ballerini’s love for the 25-year-old was obvious. “The way that I’m ride or die for Bails. Kiara. She is a lovely human being and also a musician. She just put out a song called ‘The Grey’ and it’s so good and I love her.”
Of Rudy Pankow’s character JJ, Ballerini put it simply: “If you’re not a JJ stan… That’s weird. That’s weird of you. You’re weird for that.”
When she was down to her last two spots, Jonathan Daviss popped up, and Ballerini was remorseful that she’d chosen the ranking system as a means of talking about the show.
“So I’m holding the no. 1 space, obviously. For obvious reasons,” she said, referring to her boyfriend deserving the top spot. “But J.D. does not deserve seven. The ranking is not serving me here.”
She continued of Daviss, 24, “I love him, and he loves the Titans, and I’m a Nashville girl. And we’ve actually probably gotten to hang the most, so, Pope forever.”
When Stokes, 30, finally appeared, Ballerini was visibly thrilled to see her man as she placed his character, John B., in the top spot.
“The bandana, the face,” she said, raving about how Stokes looked in the photo the filter used. “The… The him. The him. Ugh, we stan!”
“Well. I failed miserably at this but I am so excited for everyone and happy season 4,” Ballerini said as she concluded the sweet video.
Ballerini and Stokes have been dating for close to two years, and their relationship famously began when the country singer slid into the actor’s DMs.
His relationship with Cline has been a particular focus in the media. But Ballerini was quick to squash any rumors of the pair not getting along, as she said on Call Her Daddy last year, “I met her, and I talked to her and she’s lovely, and I think she’d wildly talented. And I think the internet did its best to make it really weird, and it just didn’t work for them.”
“I think they have a beautiful working relationship and I’m excited to hang with her,” Ballerini added.
