The new trailer for Virgin River has arrived. The Netflix show, which premiered in 2019, follows the sweeping romantic drama that ensues when Mel Monroe (Alexandra Breckenridge) moves to the titular small town in Northern California expecting tranquility but discovering that there plenty of conflict between the residents while falling in love with bar owner Jack Sheridan (Martin Henderson). What This Means For Virgin River Season 6

It Is Not Skimping On The Drama

While the trailer opens with Mel and Jack happy about their impending wedding and the prospect of spending forever with one another, the weeks before the event will surely not be smooth sailing. In typical Virgin River fashion, even the happiest moments seem like they will prove to not be particularly easy for the central characters. However, as they near the next chapter of their lives, both main characters are seen looking happy more often than not in the new trailer.

The trailer also promises that, while the majority of the storylines will revolve around the wedding preparations in some way, the other Virgin River characters surrounding Mel and Jack will not be forgotten. Nearly as much time is dedicated to the storylines of the other returning characters, which is a roster that includes Jenny Cooper as Joey Barnes, Colin Lawrence as John “Preacher” Middleton, Annette O’Toole as Hope McCrea, Tim Matheson as Vernon “Doc” Mullins, Zibby Allen as Brie Sheridan, Marco Grazzini as Mike Valenzuela, and Sarah Dugdale as Lizzie.

Our Take On The Virgin River Trailer

The Show Is Not Running Out Of Gas

The fact that a wedding is set to come after the Virgin River season 5 part 2 finale could have been the death knell for the show, as many romantic dramas conclude with the marriage of their main characters. However, even if the wedding goes off without a hitch, this trailer proves that the show has so much material around those characters that it will be able to carry on. Additionally, the show has set a precedent for incorporating storylines with its long-married couple Doc and Hope, so marriage is far from the end for any characters in town.

Virgin River season 6 debuts on Netflix on December 19.
