The Lincoln Lawyer’s Cisco Star Looks Completely Different in 21-Year-Old Photos

Angus Sampson plays Cisco Wojciechowski in the hit Netflix series The Lincoln Lawyer.

Angus Sampson, known for his role in The Lincoln Lawyer, looked strikingly different at the beginning of his career compared to his current biker look.

The Lincoln Lawyer season three was released on Netflix last month, continuing the story with Mickey Haller (portrayed by Manuel Garcia-Rulfo) defending Lisa Trammell (played by Lana Parrilla), who stands accused of murder.

As usual, Mickey’s team is ready to support him outside the courtroom in securing a win, including private investigator Cisco Wojciechowski (played by Angus Sampson).

Sampson’s character also has a personal tie to Mickey, having married the lawyer’s second wife Lorna Crane (Becki Newton) in the second season.

With the drama’s return being well-received by subscribers, fans have been taking a closer look at the actors off-screen, with many surprised by Sampson’s earlier appearance.

In the popular Netflix series, the 45-year-old Australian sports a cool biker look complete with a leather jacket, long unkempt hair, and a full beard.

However, photos from the early days of Sampson’s career have resurfaced, showing a very different look for the star.

Attending the opening night of the 20th St Kilda Film Festival in 2003, Sampson sported noticeably shorter and curlier hair under a bucket hat.

There was also no sign of his now-signature beard, replaced instead with some subtle stubble as he attended the event.

In a series of images from the Melbourne International Film Festival a couple of years later, he appeared markedly different.

Sporting an even shorter and straighter hairstyle, donning a pin-striped suit, and accompanied by a former girlfriend, his transformation was notable.

Discussing the TV adaptation of Michael Connelly’s book series, where real-life individuals inspired some of the fictional characters, Sampson had the opportunity to meet the man who inspired his character Cisco.

While there were many similiarites between the two, Sampson also pointed out their physical differences.

Talking to the Boston Herald, Sampson shared: “He was very complimentary and kind as to my performance portraying him. But I must admit I was a little embarrassed that he was there.

“I was like, I hope he doesn’t think I’m not doing a service.

“I think I’m a good seven or eight inches taller and I’m about three times as wide.”
